The backroads to Henry Coe State Park made for some great sports car driving. It was sunny all the way there so Lina's top was down, but it started raining 1 minute before we started hiking!

Things got muddy quickly. There's Sarah, who noted that she has done more bad-weather backpacking trips with me than good-weather ones.

Fog and rain only got more intense as Saturday went on.

Sarah at Poverty Flat, where we would set up camp. The creek we had to cross to get here was just an easy boulder hop that evening.

We stayed in Sarah's tent, which is the same as my beloved Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight except it's green. We'd be breaking it in for the first time during a wet and stormy night.

The creek we had boulder-hopped had swelled into a rapidly rushing current that was waist-deep! And we had to ford this to get back!!!

Due to the large number of photos, only the first 6 are shown. View photo album or slideshow.
