Lake Elsinore, CA

For her inaugural trip as a bicycle carrier, I give Elaina a quick fillup in Fremont on this sunny Friday afternoon.
[Mile 1, 5:55am] And I'm off on my first CA Triple Crown event in 1.5 years! This photo was taken just 3 minutes after I started. Despite its fairly close proximity to Riverside and the L.A. area, Hemet is quite desert-like.
[Mile 36, 7:51am] Now for the most beautiful part of the ride (in my opinion): going through Arlington Heights in Riverside. This is how it looks like from the seat of a recumbent; never mind my hairy legs...
[Mile 44, 8:20am] Finally, some climbing (and people): on the first climb of any significance in the ride, I finally saw more than just one or two cyclists.
[Mile 105, 1:00pm] Since the course was a figure 8, midway through the ride I got to see my Alfa again. I waved hello to her... :)
Due to the large number of photos, only the first 6 are shown. View photo album or slideshow.
