So the 2007 double century schedule for California is out now. By my count, there are a whopping 18 200-mile organized bike rides in the Golden State (or maybe 17, as it’s unclear whether the Bay in a Day Double will be held again this year). And guess what? Here are route sheets for various California century and double century rides (a few are from Colorado, Oregon, and South Dakota). Many of the route sheets for club-organized rides are scanned in DjVu format, which is like PDF format except that 1) the file sizes are smaller and 2) the software to create DjVu files is free. You may have to download the plugin (less than 1MB) for your browser, though. (Note: starting in 2005, I will post in PDF format only.) If this is a problem for you, sign the comment form below and let me know which route sheet you are looking for; I can convert the DjVu files to PDF format on a case-by-case basis…
Some of the scanned route sheets lack clarity–keep in mind that many of them spent time in my jersey pockets at the time of the ride and hence became quite crumpled. But each of them are readable enough to be useful, I hope! Continue reading »
