So the 2007 double century schedule for California is out now. By my count, there are a whopping 18 200-mile organized bike rides in the Golden State (or maybe 17, as it’s unclear whether the Bay in a Day Double will be held again this year). And guess what? Within my lifetime I would like to have run marathons in all 50 states in the U.S. So far I have done 16. Just 34 more to go! I figure, if I can continue doing a new state each year, I will have accomplished this before age 70… Continue reading »
Here is a list of the 58 California County Summits. When I lived in California I set a long-term goal of mine is to do all of them solely via human power (e.g., by hiking, climbing, snowshoeing, or even bicycling). So far I have climbed 13. Now that I live in Colorado, accomplishing that may take a long longer. In any case, the mountains await! Continue reading »
