Return to the Heart (David Lanz Cover)

David Lanz is a Grammy-nominated pianist whose “New Age” music was popular in the late 1980s. He once stated:

[The piano] is the most divinely inspired instrument on the planet. It presents a great attraction to our left-right brain relationship.

My goal is to create entertainment that also provides hope and enlightenment.

I agree with the first part of the statement and think he succeeded at the second part. And during these chaotic times, we could sure use some music that provides hope and enlightenment!

His composition “Return to the Heart” has become one of my favorites despite its relative simplicity. I was able to learn it in about a week. Of course, I could always use more practice, but recorded this when I was about 98% of the way there.

I’m not sure what I’ll try to learn next yet, but will look into some of David Lanz’s other songs for sure. Please leave a comment below if you have any suggestions.
