Poudre Trail MTB Ride

This morning I went on an impromptu mountain biking ride with Kimi along the Poudre River in Fort Collins. Now, I have run along the paved multi-use Poudre Recreation Trail many times, but was surprised that there was so much dirt singletrack between the trail and the river! Wending through verdant natural preserves with tall trees, we made our way over to Vern’s Place in Laporte, which had nice views of the mountains to the southwest.

At Vern’s, we had a nice greasy breakfast before riding back to Kimi’s and afterwards to my place (solo). Cranky, the yellow mountain bike, did great and seemed almost as fast as Carrie on the road. Or at least that is the perception—I still don’t have a speedometer for Cranky so it’s hard to know for sure.

I rode Cranky over to Kimi's home early in the morning for an impromptu mountain bike ride.
