Este artículo es sobre una razón posible que un nuevo lavavajillas de Balay sigue pitando o haciendo bip. La solución fue simple.
Here in Spain, one of the most, if not the most, popular household appliance makers is Balay. Our new home is equipped with a Balay refrigerator, freezer, microwave, oven, and dishwasher.
We moved in several months ago, but we have been washing our dishes by hand. Finally, when we tried using the dishwasher for the very first time, we were not pleased.
Beep… beep… beep… beep… beep…
The dishwasher seemed to function normally for the first four minutes before making this dreaded beeping noise. What did this noise mean?
Of course, I Googled and also searched YouTube. I also downloaded the instruction manual and painstakingly read it in Spanish before contacting Balay’s customer service. The latter had no suggestions but offered to send a technician, which I happily accepted.
The video below shows the beeping dishwasher, and also the reason for it.
Long story short: the technician came over and solved the problem within 30 seconds. The water supply to it was not turned on!
Boy did I feel stupid.
In the hours I spent troubleshooting the problem, I did look at the plumbing underneath the sink. (In my Colorado home, I had installed the dishwasher all by myself, so I wasn’t completely clueless about how dishwashers are hooked up.) But I overlooked the valve shown at the end of the video.
The Balay technician explained that since the dishwasher was working just fine, he should be charging for a house visit. However, he waived it since he solved the issue so quickly and because we were “a young couple just starting out.” (He might have been surprised to know our real ages.)
Anyhow, if you are using a newly installed Balay dishwasher and it starts beeping a few minutes after you press the start button, make sure the water supply is turned on. The beeping noise could mean that no water is going to the dishwasher.
Thanks to Balay and the technician for their great service.
