I went to Guatemala in late 2010 to volunteer at Maya Pedal, a non-government organization the designs and builds bicycle machines that help the locals with manual labor. Doing so opened up my eyes to the vast challenges, poverty and corruption facing this developing country that nevertheless is abound with natural beauty and personal affection.
