Ever since I became an adult I’ve been fascinated by multilinguals who can easily switch in and out of different languages with nary a blink of the eye. Learning another language not only gives a person a deeper appreciation of the nuances of communication and culture, but makes traveling abroad a lot more enjoyable.

Currently I speak Spanish (near-fluent), French (advanced), and some Mandarin (beginner-intermediate). My parents’ first tongue is Cantonese, so I usually can understand enough to know when they are talking about me, but I can’t say enough to save my life.
